3 Simple Tips To Improve Your Mental Focus While Playing Golf
By Golf2Win | July 8, 2009
Because golf is a sport that unlike any other sports, including basketball and soccer, requires not much physical agility, experts and golf players claim that golf is more touching on the mental facets of the player rather than the physical.
Strength is needed but not that crucial when playing golf. It is observed that even the weaklings or the nerds could excel in this sport. The game is all about mental agility, all about focus.
Achieving mental focus while playing golf is very crucial if you want to put up a good golf game. However, it never ends there. Once you learn how to achieve that much needed focus, you should continually strive to maintain it and much more, to further improve it.
Here are some simple tips that are aimed at helping you attain and improve effective mental focus when playing golf.
1. Clear your mind from any mental stressors. Problems and issues at the office or at home should be set aside for a while. If possible, adopt a happy and positive disposition during the game. That would help you attain, maintain and improve concentration.
2. Aim big. Aim to always hit the ball at the right speed, at the right angle and towards the right direction. Direction and goal is the name of the game and you should develop that self discipline of attaining those goals.
3. Be silent and concentrate. Focus on the ball, the hole and how you hold that golf club. Before swinging, make sure your mind is occupied with nothing else except successfully landing that ball into where it should be, where it belongs, the hole.
Indeed, the game of golf is a mental exercise, it is a mental activity. Tiger Woods and other successful and famous golf players would always talk about their secrets to overwhelming and admirable golf performance, and that would be focus.

What Is A Golf Fitness System And How Can It Help
By Golf2Win | July 4, 2009
A golf fitness system is an “all-inclusive” program that covers the key elements of the physical approach to golf performance. With golf fitness becoming mainstream, it’s no surprise more of these golf fitness system packages are popping up.
Golf Stretching
A golf fitness system should have a complete section on golf stretching. Stretching is the key to improving golf specific ranges of motion to enable a full backswing and follow through with minimal tension or effort.
Golf stretching for the older golfer is even more critical. With age comes a rapid decline in flexibility, resulting in poor and inconsistent swing mechanics and an increase in mishits.
Golf Strength
Golf strength is an area that a golf fitness system should devote heavily on. The majority of golfers are weak in the muscles specific to the golf swing.
The main area of emphasis should be core strength and flexibility. A weak or inflexible core will not produce maximum clubhead speed and distance.
Coordination
Coordination and golf are synonymous. The golf swing is a sequentional movement that requires a high level of coordination and body awareness. Knowing where your body is during the entire swing will give you instant feedback on what may be causing your swing faults.
Stability
Right along with coordination is stability. Being able to remain stable throughout the swing will allow you to hit the ball on the sweet spot consistently. Excess body movement (unstable) will result in a non efficient golf swing that falls apart under pressure or later in the round.
Other Factors
A complete golf fitness system should cover all the above and many other factors I won’t get in to in this article. Just make sure you incorporate strength, flexibility, stabilization, coordination, body awareness and even golf specific muscular endurance.
With all the glut of golf fitness information out there, do some research into the person or company behind the products and make sure they’ll personally back their product and/or service.

Training Golfdust - What is it?
By Golf2Win | June 30, 2009
There is currently a lot of interesting golfdust. This is because golf, suprisingly, has arisen on the internet as one of the hottest topics (if you don’t include searches for adult material).
Why would this be? My theory is that people are becoming even more sedentary than before, and are taking up sports that require little to no exertion on their part. Golf fits this description.
The other theory is that the baby boomers are just about ready to retire (in about 5-10 years), and many see golf as their reward for having had to work hard for so many years. After all, golf doesn’t appeal to most young, active individuals. It is a sedentaty, easy going “sport”. Though in my opinion, it is hardly a real sport, and more of a spectactator sport.
In any case, what golfdust does is provide a very effective alternative to impact tape. Impact tape is used indicate where you have hit the golfball with your club. This is useful to measure your efficiency of swing and your accuracy.
Once you’ve hit the golfball, just examine your club, and based on the accuracy of your shot, you can see if you need to improve your form.
Many people find that by keeping the hips level and centered during the upswing, the coming down stroke will have more power. Of course what is power without accuracy? So make sure to keep your eyes on the ball during the full swing, without looking up too early after making contact.
Furthermore, a golf coach can be helpful. Many universities offer free coaching to alumni and town residents as a good will gesture.
So join the golf revolution! But don’t strain too much, as golf is for the relaxed lifestyle seeker. Welcome to your retirement!
Sam recommends Training Golfdust for improving accuracy in your golf game.
